Summer Sensations Ladders
The 2010 Summer Sensations Ladder will provide an opportunity to play and meet different members. It will commence after the 2009/2010 Winter Singles is completed
Keeping things simple - the Format and Rules
- Entry fee of £5 per person per ladder
- There will be a maximum of 32 entries per ladder.
- Singles will be mixed, i.e. men will be playing ladies and vice versus
- Doubles - pairs of men, ladies or mixed will also be on the same doubles ladder
The initial order of the ladders, where possible and relevant, will be based on results of previous tournaments including the WSL, team standard, LTA rating, self assessment from the recent Colour scheme and initial rating by the coaches (new members).
Rules
- Each person or pair will be limited to challenge those up to 3 places above
- Standard tennis rules apply and because of court pressure during the summer, the first to reach 6 games will be deemed the winner
- A tie break will be played should the score reach 5-5
- Where a lower level challenger(s) win(s), they move up the ladder occupying the place above the loser
- Where the challenge was unsuccessful, the places remain unchanged
- There is no deadline to play matches, but players must play at least one match per month, regardless of the number of ladders they are on. If they cannot commit to one a month, players will be dropped from the ladder
NB. With the busy schedule of team matches and the Summer Tournament, there will be no priority given to any ladder matches and they will be treated as normal members’ play, i.e. wait for courts to become available and play for 45 minutes
How will you know how you’re performing?
Monthly snapshots will be taken noting all positions, recording the various movements as the ladders are in play. Look out for information on the notice boards or on the website.
