Our current structured Junior Development Programme was begun in Summer 2004. We currently have over 100 juniors in the programme, which is regarded by the LTA as one of the best in Middlesex. We operate a junior cub rating system and all new juniors are evaluated and placed into the group appropriate to their skill level. The club is an LTA Accredited Mini Tennis centre. Our Junior Performance Programme was launched in October 2005.

Ealing Tennis Juniors edge thrilling contest with Westway
The Girls Under 12 team from Ealing Lawn Tennis Club won a thrilling Club League Division 1 match against Westway (North Kensington) on Sunday 30th March.

Ealing got off to a slow start with the Westway numbers 1 and 2, winning both of the top singles matches. Lauren Oliver narrowly lost in 3 sets to Emily Laciny and Westway’s Bolar Enkhbayar beat Siobhan Abrams Brand 6-3, 6-4. However, the Ealing girls then teamed up to win their doubles match in a third set tie-break against the same two girls who had beaten them in their singles matches.

Ealing numbers 3 and 4, Nanami Yamaguchi and Shivani Raval won their doubles match but when Shivani lost out in her singles match to Westway’s exciting young prospect Lilly Clark, the pressure was on Nanami to win her singles to tie the match. Nanami dug deep and recovered from losing the first set to beat Moniqe Maygar in a third set tie break.

All this left the match scores equal at 6 points each, so the Tie-break Shoot Out came into operation. Lauren and Siobhan again teamed up against Emily and Bolar. After a very close contest, the Ealing girls eventually secured an 11-9 victory.

Ealing’s Head Coach, Chris Sordyl, who runs the Ealing Lawn Tennis Club’s Performance Squads, said that he was delighted with the victory over Westway who are recognised as one of the top Junior Clubs in Middlesex.

The Ealing Girls also won their first Division 1 match of the season against Hackney City Tennis Club and look forward to their next fixture versus Esporta Chiswick.
