ELTC Social Club
Whilst the raison d’ętre for our club is to play tennis, the large number of members and guests result in a thriving social club as well.

Several events are always arranged during the year, from organised themed evenings at our club, as well as various soirees outside the club. Over the last few years, we have two main events at the club, namely our mid summer ball in June and our finals day (a culmination of the summer tournament) in July. Interspersed throughout the year are other events at the club and to name but a few, we’ve had successful evenings with Cheese & Wine parties, Junior Jamming Session, Karaoke evenings, Quizzes, and only recently, a tremendous Curry & Comedy Night.

The club’s social calendar will now take a break during demolition of the old clubhouse and will restart with vigour when the new clubhouse emerge later this year.

The successes of our previous events are solely due to the contribution of several members in volunteering to take charge of various activities. This is a members’ club after all. New volunteers are always welcome, as are different ideas on events and please contact me should you wish to assist.

This is your club – please make the most of it. Watch this space.

Club Abseil Down Guys Hospital Tower Raises Over £3,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign
Club members Louisa Bourchier, Nigel Gurkin, Matt Hooper and Vernon Wong all abseiled safely 500 feet down Guys Hospital Tower on Sunday 17th August. They raised a stunning £3,000+ for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. So well done to all four of them. There was plenty of club member support at the base of the tower and in the pub before and after the abseil! Pictures here
