Juniors Alex Zaniewski and Ravi Patel are 2008 Open Singles Champions
For the first time in living memory two juniors became Open Adult Singles champions at the club's sunny but windy Finals Day on Saturday 19th July. Alex Zaniewski beat former champion Sophie Bell and Ravi Patel beat former champion Sam Tirodkar. We think that Ravi is the first 15 year old to become Men's Open Champion and that he and his father Gham, who was champion in 1989, are the first ever father and son to have both been Men's Open winners.
