The May Bank Holiday tournament took place with the sun shining but with a chilly north easterly wind blowing. However this did not stop 18 pairs entering the fun and laughter by playing round robin matches of seven games, with the top two from each group going forward to the quarter finals, also consisting of seven games.
As usual the games were very competitive and close. In the semis, John and Lara (-15.3) beat Risa and Alastair (scratch) 6-2, whilst Lami and James (-15) beat Geisa and Hayden (scratch) 6-0.
The event became even more competitive when John and Lara played James and Lami in the final, with John and Lara becoming the eventual winners winning 6-5.
Both the semis and final were closely watched by members well wrapped up, clutching their drinks whilst cheering the competitors on.
