May Bank Holiday Tournament Report 2024

The May Bank Holiday Tournament was again a much-anticipated doubles

tennis tournament which turned into a thrilling time that captivated both

participants and the audience. 18 mixed pairs turned up to play competitive

round robin matches before the group playoffs, but it was Adam and Henrietta

who managed to conquer all and take home the trophy, winning 6-4 against

Delainey and Leo. Big congratulations to them for their win and to the rest of

the participants for their efforts. We celebrate everyone’s success and look

forward to seeing you return for the next tournament in August.

The excitement was palpable throughout the day, with each match contributing

to the overall sense of community and camaraderie. Spectators enjoyed not only

the high-quality tennis but also the vibrant atmosphere that has come to define

the Club, and despite a short ruffle with the weather, we all managed to enjoy

the May sunshine.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the players who

participated and gave their best efforts on the courts, but a special thank you

goes out to Janice Coulthard without who’s efforts none of this would be

possible. Thanks also go to Adam for running the bar and providing lunch for

everyone.

As we reflect on this successful event, we are already looking forward to next

tournament at the end of August. We encourage players of all levels to consider

joining us for the competition. So, we invite you to mark your calendars and

join us once again for a day of thrilling matches and shared enjoyment.

Together, we can continue to build on the tradition of sportsmanship and

community that defines our club. Here’s to many more memorable tournaments

in the years to come!
